Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

We have an ENT appt today...

I'm a little nervous about it. I hope his ears are ok. I know he can hear very well now, but I'm nervous about him having partial hearing loss eventually if he continues to get these damn infections. Hopefully all goes well today.

  • Good luck! ?Is this your first ENT appointment? ?DD saw one back in February and it was not a scary experience at all. ?Doctors and nurses were super nice and DD enjoyed the hearing test. ?I hope you get good results!!?

  • DD got tubes just days before her first birthday. The difference in her walking and talking are like night and day. She walks so well and has an amazing vocabulary. If they suggest it, don't be scared. It was the best thing that has happened to us!

  • Yeah, I'm going in thinking (or knowing actually) that he'll probably need tubes. It's partially hereditary and my SIL, nephew, FIL, and brother all had tubes or problems with their ears when they were little. So...I'm thinking DS is doomed. I just hope his hearing is ok.

Yes, this is our first appointment. He's still currently on ear drops and antibiotics from the most recent infection.

I'm surprised that DS hasn't had a problem walking or talking since he's had so many infections.

  • We went yesterday to an ENT and DS was fine with the doctor and let him look in his ears which was shocking to us but when it came time for the hearing test he went nuts! They played a sound and then this monkey lit up in a box and was moving and DS freaked and was hysterical. We had to leave the room and couldn't finish the test. They did say he should be hearing better and we need to get it done again. I am going to wait a few weeks and then take him again but this time I will tell them no monkeys and no animation! Good luck!
