  • We used to call my friend Rachel Rae-Rae.  It was just a cutesy nickname we gave her, not her parents or anything.  I dunno, I don't have much of an issue with it.  As long as it's name isn't literally Ray-Ray.
  • I don't think there is anything wrong with Ray, Raymond, or Ray-Ray. ?Sometimes I refer to Benjamin as Ben-Ben...kinda reminds me of JFK and John-John, or was it Jon-Jon?

Certainly better than some names I have seen lately. ??

  • Uh... I had a student last year who was named Ray and we called him Ray Ray...because that's what his parents called him...?

?Not sure why it is horrible. ?Now if I called my student named Kyree "Ree Ree" I find that horrible.?

I don't think Ray-Ray is a bad nn for a kid named Raymond or Rachel. It seems like a cute, natural nickname that his mom or family calls him.?
