After 14 months at home, I'll be going back to work in August! I'm excited. BUT, nervous about my daycare situation. DD has been going to a Parent's Day Out the past 9 months and I put her on the waiting list for their full time daycare in January. She has a little bit of priority because she was in this school's PDO, but I have contacted the full time daycare director twice to see where DD is on the wait list and she has not responded. I am starting to get anxious - I thought I had started these arrangements with plenty of time, but now I'm worried. My back-up is a home daycare that a friend of mine's DS went to last year. I'm not thrilled about it, but at least I have something else in the wings if our 1st choice doesn't pan out. Just a vent!
Re: Joining you ladies in August! And worried about daycare waiting list...
We were in a little bit different situation, (on two daycare waiting lists, no prior relationship with either one) but I know one thing they were waiting on before determining what spaces they had available was which / if kids would be moving up to the next classroom. We didn't find out we had a spot until last minute (like a month and a half before I went back) but it was because they had to assess their arrangements.
It's annoying that the director hasn't responded to you, but I found this to be the case at more than one center we looked at.
