What do you do about carseats when you go to another country with baby? We're possibly taking a trip to Japan in July and I was wondering what you do about this... will American carseats work in cars overseas, or do you have to rent one when you get there? Do you just take public transportation (buses, trains) and hold the baby?
Anyone have experience with this?
Re: Traveling internationally with baby: carseat?
You can definitely still check car seats and strollers at the gate. If you're buying a seat for baby on the plane, you can carry it on, too, and it's a place for baby to sleep on the plane.
I would think car seats would be usable if cars have shoulder seatbelts in the back. When I've traveled, I've mostly taken public transportation and carried my baby in a front carrier on the bus etc.
I just bought an EllaRoo wrap from you!! How funny, I didn't know you were on the Bump.
