Has anyone used them for their DC? In particular the Northville location? I had a crappy experience with BRU so I'd like to try a new place but don't have a whole lot of money to spend so their $9.95 package deal sounds great! These would be K's first birthday shots so I'd like them to be decent.
I haven't used that location, but I've used the one in Sterling Heights and have been really happy. We've done 4 sessions now. They have a wide variety of props, so we always get some cute pictures. The prices are pretty reasonible too. I like that you get the pictures right away, so you don't have to make a special trip to pick them up

We went to the Northville location in January and loved loved loved it. I found out about them on the recommendation of another Nestie We'll be going back!

I second this. We have used the Sterling Heights location once or twice and will not go anywhere else.
We just took DS's 6 Month pics at the Brighton
location earlier this month with Kim S.. They were fabulous!!!
Quick run-down: Total shoot time and picture selection took 45 minutes. Pics
were printed in another 15 minutes. Almost 65 pics were taken total. Their
pricing is based on "per pose" packages. For each pose, you get
3 sheets (which you can select sizes of for wallets, 8X10, etc.). They'll give
you the pose prices on the phone. We spent $150.47 after taxes for the $9.95
package and a beach scene, silhouette headshots, a bath scene, and a plain
background. We narrowed down our favorite pictures to 8 poses and a 1
extra pose for the $9.95 package (total of 24 sheets plus the pics from the
$9.95 package, which is just simply an insane amount of pictures). If you
spend a certain amount (I think $100) they'll give you a CD with low-res images
of ALL of the pics taken. A hint I read online: you can't print 8x10s
with these in good quality, but you can print 5x7 and smaller, so use your
print credits for the larger pics and the wallets if you're planning on
spending at least the $100. We also received 2 "special
effects" because we spent so much-we chose a black and white for one, and dual image prints for the other.
You can purchase the $9.95 package every 3 months I believe. But, they
take such great pictures, you'll want more. We went in knowing we were wanting
multiple poses and would be spending close to $150; money never came up when we
were selecting our poses. As you narrow down your favorite poses with the
photographer, a running tally of your total is displayed on the computer
screen, so there's never a question about how much you are spending, and we
experienced no pressure (or hard sell) to buy more than we budgeted for.
We'll be going back next for 1 year birthday shots. Our photographer
told us to bring a small cake and balloons, party hats, etc. Towards the
end of the shoot, you'll strip DS or DD down to a diaper and just let them play
with the cake. There was a great image of this displayed at the Brighton location-totally cute!
I hope I answered many of your questions. We had the same dilemma when
we were choosing where to go-there are just so many choices and options, and it seemed like ever review I read had differing opinions.
All of our family and friends absolutely love our Portrait Innovations shots,
and we 100% recommend them! Our only regret is that we didn't time the morning nap better-DS didn't really "wake up" until we were 1/3 way through shoot.
I just had DSs 3 month pictures done at that location yesterday. They were great. DS was cranky so they gave me time to feed him to help calm him down (even though he had eaten less than an hour before). The pictures came out great. I spent $115 but got an insane amount of pictures. If $ was tight and I wanted to do just a $9.95 package I would definetly pick there over some of the other places that offer similar packages.

I added some to my bio to show you examples.
