how long after surgery did it take you to poop?  I can't remember.  My mom is going to visit my cousin who just had her baby via c/s yesterday at 10am... my mom was going to bring my cousin a plant but I told my mom to bring real food too, but I know I wasn't allowed to eat real food until I pooped... anyone remember?

I did within a couple of days.

I was allowed to eat after passing gas, and thank goodness because I didn't have a BM until way after I got out of the hospital.

Maybe 3 days?  I know it was before I left the hospital, but I was allowed solid food as soon as I started "passing gas".  For the life of me I couldn't understand why they were asking that at the time, I was like excuse me?  But once I said yes the nurse told me ok now you can eat off of the regualar menu!

I was able to eat real food the same day that I had my c/s.

It took me a few days but I was allowed to eat real food before I did.

4 days, and it wasn't painful.  However, I didn't even go on a liquid diet.  I went straight to real food because I told my doctor that I was starving, but I hadn't kept much food down in days.  A couple hours after my c/s, I had Burger King.

I wasn't allowed solid foods until I passed gas.  I had my c-section at 6pm on a Monday and didn't have real food until 12pm Tuesday.  Your mom could always bring her some yummy popsicles or broth...my liquid diet was less than stellar.

I had DS on Thursday and pooped on Sunday.  In order to eat, I needed to pass gas, not poop.

I must hold some kind of record. Had my C 7pm on a Tuesday, pooped by 2pm on Wednesday!

I didn't for a week.  I was allowed to have food after passing gas which was later on on the day I delivered.  Around 12 hours I believe.

Okay I am so jealous that everyone got to eat after passing gas instead of pooping... what is up with that Canada?  I had to eat jello and drink crappy juice... I remember downing practically a whole pizza once I got the all clear.  My cousin's in CA so she probably can eat now... thanks ladies!

I pooped the day after I came home from the hospital, so by day 6. ?I was given real food by day 2. ?I think I would have starved to death if they waited until I pooped to give me real food. ?
