xp: napping in my arms

dd stirs & wakes up if i try to move.... so once again, i am stuck on the couch. this is becoming too coomon for us & I'm afraid i'm creating a monster! what should i do???

Re: xp: napping in my arms

  • Enjoy it, try to relax and know that in a few months she won't want to nap, much less cuddle with you on the couch to do it.?
  • She should be taking one nap at least till the age of two, if not longer. (that's what they say at least).  So she's got to learn how to put herself to sleep.  That is the only way.  GL :)

  • DD's 3 and still takes naps. Sometimes she climbs up in my lap, snuggles in and falls asleep. She'd do it right around your DD's age too, but she'd still be able to fall asleep on her own if I put her down in her crib for nap (ditto for now and nap or bedtime).
  • Enjoy it! Oliver used to do that all the time, but now he's mostly outgrown it. On the rare occasion that he still naps on me now, I love it!

If you really have stuff to do, and want to teach her to sleep in her crib, then just try putting her down, and maybe she'll surprise you and roll over and go to sleep!

  • and btw...love the new siggy...so cute! lol
  • I would teach her to nap in her crib.  That way you can still occasionally nap with her if you want, but she's not dependent on it.  You don't want her not napping if you ever take a vacation or are sick in the hospital or something.  Plus, that's prime time to get stuff done!  Kiran still naps best when we're cuddling...he'll sleep two or three hours instead of the 30 - 40 minutes he'll do in his crib, but he seems fine either way.
