We play with some cereal and sweet potatoes MAYBE 3 times a week and don't really plan to get into any routine until summer, but when are they no longer considered to be EBF? I'm trying to figure it out for when I have the change my daily points for WW. (I don't want to stop at all- I want to keep BF for 30 years to keep all of the calories that I can eat and still lose weight!!)
Re: when are they not considered EBF?
I feed dd solids at least 1x a day, but because most of her calories & nutrition come from bfing & she doesn't take a bottle, I still consider her ebf.?
I'll stop considering her ebf when her nutrition starts to come from solids as opposed to bm. ?
ditto
Well, here's the technical answer. Technically, "Exclusive Breastfeeding" is defined as giving no other foods or fluids except breastmilk (excluding prescribed medicines). So in the medical / nutrition world, as soon as you even give your kid water, he's not EBF anymore. If you're giving mostly breastmilk but some other fluids or foods, it's considered "predominant breastfeeding".
But for the purposes of WW, I'd use the BF points until you're BFing less than 2x a day.
Sorry to be so nit-picky! I work in nutrition, so every time I see someone mis-use the term EBF, it gets me all hot and bothered!
