WDYT: Tag

My close friends and DH love it. I did at first and now I'm getting cold feet. Normally it's the nn of Taggart, but we would just go with Tag. Our last name is very common, ends in "son" just like everyone else in Minnesota so want something different but not hard to pronounce/spell. MN would be Nicklaus, after the golfer Jack Nicklaus.

Just Tag is a definite no for me.  It's something you do to someone on the playground and the name just seems too short to me.

I think it would be OK, (don't love it but at least makes more sense) if it were a nn for a full name, or a nn for someone whose initials are T.A. G but to just name him Tag, I don't like it. Sorry! Plus with all of the associations, like Taggies (popular toys and blankets for babies) and the game Tag, plus isn't there a body spray or deoderant named this too? -it just seems like an odd choice.

Taggart!? um no! I don't love Tag but if you do use it I would change the spelling of the middle name to Nicholas. That way the entire name isnt so 'out there'.

Sorry, but also not a fan of "Tag" - especially just "Tag" not as a diminuitive & for no apparent reason.

Should also say that Taggart reminds me of the long-running tv series (in the UK) of the same name.

ETA: Random, but, to the OP, I just noticed that you're from Brainerd - I went to summer camp for years just outside Brainerd...too funny.

Mine too. And I like SP, but still...Also, I had a friend whose name was pronounced "Tig" growing up and it's just weird.
