No, don't use it for cradle cap. When DD's cradle cap first flared up, I rubbed some olive oil into her scalp and let it set for about 15 minutes. Using a soft toothbrush, I loosened the flakes and then washed her hair to get the oil and flakes out. Now, it's a lot better. It's still there, but improving. We leave it alone now.

same here. massage olive or canola oil on scalp for 5-10 mins. wash hair like normal. i then let hair dry a little bit, then brush hair to loosen flakes. it took us maybe 3 days/3 baths to get rid of it all, but this is a good method.
It was the only thing that worked for us! I had tried olive oil, one other thing specific to cradle cap care and also just left it alone..nothing worked. On a whim I slathered aquaphor on his head about 30-45 minutes before giving him a bath and combed it through. I kept combing lightly every couple of minutes and the scales were coming off really well. Once in the bath I used Head & Shoulders (because baby shampoo alone didn't get all the aquaphor out), let it sit for a bit and combed it through. After rinsing H&S I used his baby shampoo. He only had 1 little spot left after doing that but it is gone now. I don't see why it would be bad..just be careful and don't scrub/comb too hard.
