DS was called a girl twice this weekend

He's never been called a girl before...

Saturday he was refered to as a she by a sales clerk. He was wearing a blue and red striped shirt and blue pants.

Sunday he was in his stroller at my brother's graduation and this guy comes over and said "Well she's living the high life!".  He was wearing a blue shirt, brown overalls and a blue sun hat). Huh?

I don't get it.

  • I get boy if she's in any color but pink or purple.  It's no big.
  • Loading the player...
  • Tomorrow dress him in a pink tutu and see if he gets called a "he."  LOL
  • i think people just assume it's one sex over another - regardless of what the baby is wearing.  They don't even look.  I doubt your LO looks like a girl!  :)

Yep... me too.  DD has been called a "he" so many times... and I really think they just assume she's a boy because her stroller is probably a bit more boyish (it's green and grey).  We went with neutral stuff so that we could use it for future pregnancies.

  • Well your LO is super cute, so there's no concern there.

People seriously are dumb. Plain and simple. Even if DD is wearing PINK, people will ask sometimes if it's a boy or a girl. I've seen people on here complaining because their LO is in a dress and ppl still call baby a boy.

They simply don't pick up on the cues ;-)
