Parenting after a Loss

When did you start a schedule?

What did your days look like around 2 months? Dane's still napping sporatically and sleeping not so good at night. Just wondering when to really start implementing a routine.

I was just about to ask the same question!!  EC's naps don't make sny sense to me.  Yesterday she slept most of the morning and afternoon, today she was up at 7:00am and is taking mini-naps.  Its frustrating!!!

  • At 2 months I kinda started to try alittle scheduling but it was really sporatic.  three days ago I almost had one, but then we spent most of the night in the ER and it's all shot to helll.
  • wondering the same thing!
  • We didn't really have a routine at two months- but DS would take 2.5-3 hour naps around 9 AM, be up for 1.5 hours or so, and then take a 2-2.5 hour nap in the afternoon (around 2-3 pm).  Then he'd eat around 5-5:30 pm, be awake until 7 pm and then sleep some for an hour or so.  He'd then want to nurse every 1.5-2 hours throughout the night.  As he got older, it's evened out though and he doesn't cluster his nightly feedings anymore.  Now at three mos, we have are working on a nightly routine, which is working great (when we do it!)

     good luck!

  • DH's cousin came to visit at 6 weeks and whipped us into shape.  If it hadn't been for her, we'd probably still be without any sort of schedule!  We started with sleeping.  Her schedule is still pretty loose-- some moms can say "Bobby naps at 9, 12 and 3 and eats at 11, 2, and 5, etc."  Not us.  It all kind of depends on when she wakes up and goes, roughly, in 3 hour cycles all day.
  • We have a bit of a bedtime routine (more like a 1.5 hour window though)... not much of a daytime routine/schedule though.. I am considering starting scheduled naps around 3 month in hopes that the will take longer naps.. but for now, no schedule works for me, and it seems to work OK for her. Yesterday she hardly napped at all.. Today seems like she wants to nap a lot..

  • DD eats every 2.5-3 hours, usually at 7, 10, 1, 4 (am and pm). ?During the day if she hits 3 hours without eating, I'll wake her up to feed so that we stay on schedule. ?I've worked really hard at getting her to take a full feeding at each meal so that she doesn't need to snack in between. ?She will stay awake from 5 to 60 mins after a feeding. ?Unfortunately, she has her days and nights mixed up. ?She falls right to sleep after her afternoon feedings, but wants to be awake after her 7pm & 10pm (& sometimes 1am) feedings.?
  • We have somewhat of a "routine" but definitely not a schedule... and just 10 days from 1st birthday!
