Babies: 0 - 3 Months

moms of girls...more TMI

at the last doctors appointment the doctor told us the her vagina was closing a little and when changing her diaper, we have to open her up and swab some vaseline in there. I guess if we don't her skin could fuse together.

I only do that before bed, but I'm wondering if anyone had the same situation and how long their doctor told them to do this. She goes next week for her 4 month check up so I can ask them then.

Thanks

Apparently it is not uncommon, I'd keep doing it until otherwise noted.

  • Hmmm.  Our nurse practitioner said that she had slight labial adhesion, but that when her body begins to produce more estrogen, it should open itself back up and that we should not worry about it.  She said if it didn't happen naturally, then we could discuss treatments later.  I think she said something about estrogen cream.
  • Happened to DD, by her 6mo appt she was fine

  • This apparently happened with me when I was a baby (mom just told me about it a month ago) and it got so bad that I had to go to the emergency room once. I'd definately call your pedi now and ask if you should be doing it more, jut in case.
