3rd Trimester

s/o contractions...

How often do you have the mildly crampy braxton hicks/contractions?  I feel like since about 33 weeks I've started having them and they're like...maybe 6 or 7 times a day.  I also have normal braxton hicks that don't feel like anything, just the tightening in the uterus.  Just curious....

Re: s/o contractions...

  • Not very often in the the day. Usually just in the am as I wake up and at night when trying to relax. I actually took some Tylenol last night because of it.

  • Tightness without discomfort, like if you were to have them you can still sleep through them are BHs.  Thats totally normal at your stage in the game.

Now, if you get them at night and they keep you up due to complete discomfort - I mean, where you can't get comfortable at all, that is something that I would call your OB for.

Trust me, there is a difference that you will feel.

The cramps that I get with it, wouldn't even register on my pain scale, just more annoying than anything.  I get braxton hicks with and without the cramps though...So far no pain has kept me up at night.

  • Yeah, thats normal...annoying, but normal.

I would mention that your getting them from your OB the next time you meet with him/her, just to keep her in the loop.

  • Well, I ended up having real contractions for five hours on Monday after having sex. I went to the doctor's on Tuesday and was put on a fetal monitor....everything is fine with baby...thank god. So, I had yet another appointment on Friday where I had the FFN test completed.... we're waiting for the results. But, I've been ok since then without having any braxton hicks.... I guess we're all different in that way of having them at different times in our pregnancies.
