3rd Trimester

Trip to L&D

So, been having pressure issues all day, getting worse, decided it would be in best interest to go get checked out. Got to hospital, they set me up to be monitored. Up until now, I haven't been real sure about what contractions feel like. Now I know. It was almost instant once they got me hooked up. Contractions were consistent and about 7 minutes apart, with some a little closer than that. Anyway, cervix has not changed since Monday (or while I was at the hospital) so I was sent home. They gave me a shot of demerol and phenergen to ease me through contractions and knock me out for the night...I thought I would feel stupid for going to the hospital, but I feel relieved to know what is going on, and that I am making some sort of progress. 70% effaced tonight compared to 50% on Monday. Okay, thanks for listening...I think I will go pass out now Tongue Tied

Re: Trip to L&D

  • I hope you sleep well & then wake up in labour! Sometimes the Demerol helps relax you & your body can relax enough to dilate your cervix! It would be great if you could get some rest first! Good Luck

  • Woot!! Sounds like its getting to be that time! Get some rest now, you'll need it!
  • Hmmmm, I had no clue contractions could just feel like pressure either. The only contractions I had with DS was on Pitocin after my water had broke. And they were pretty flipping strong, so I've been expecting that. Hmmmmm.....

  • Hope things start to progress for you soon.
