3rd Trimester

Anyone change their mind?

Anyone change there mind as far as the ideal size of the family that they thought that they wanted? I originally wanted four children and after being pregnant i am for sure not having four. It will be two at the least and depending on whether or not i still have to work and the cost of college for multiple children we may end up with three.

Re: Anyone change their mind?

  • DH wants 5.. I said I will carry two and he has the last 3.  I keep asking him.. you sure about this during my insane times.  He says "yep you are so hot when you are pregnant".  I think he is broken or something.. Confused

  • Growing up I wanted 4, but since becoming an adult I really think 2 is enough!
  • Thats hilarious! He completely understands now because there was a guy in our childbirth class that made the decisions that they were trying again in 9 months like he was carrying the baby. DH was on fire!
  • I've always wanted 4-6, but I have a feeling that may change over the next few months...
  • I grew up as an only child and LOVED it, so I've never felt the need to have more than one child, I feel like I want to focus all of my energy on him and not have it divided by another. Also I have a ridiculous fear of childbirth. :P
  • Once that baby comes out your body will tell you that you want another one right away with some crazy hormonal feeling. At least that's what happened to me, thank god it will be a while before i can have sex again otherwise i might end up going through the hell they call pregnancy again really soon.

I think that your own experiences do carry a lot of weight in the decision...I have one sibling and can't imagine having been an only child. DH abd I agree that we want DS to have a sibling. So, two was our plan and still is...but like w/every other great plan, it could change. I have this feeling I'm going to be open to having more, whether that means biologically or adopting. But yeah, right now? Two for me is ideal, but I really think that that's largely because I grew up in a 2 kid household.
