I went into the hospital 3 days before they were born, so he stayed with me that week. Then he went back to work the next week after I was discharged but they were in NICU. Then he took the first week off they were home.

my dh's company used to give 6w paid vacation - which is unheard of around here... but they JUST cut back as of April 1st and give 2 weeks paternity + another 2 if you are the "primary caregiver" - which he will be considered b/c we are having 2 babies and I work, too... so he'll get 4 weeks paid and probably take one week of paid vacation, to.
my company gives the men 2 paid weeks of paternity- which is also very nice - b/c most companies here in NJ don't give anything.
DH is a teacher so he had enough sick days saved up to get paid during his 12 weeks FMLA. I had our babies on a Thursday. He took until that Tuesday off because they were in the NICU. He worked while they were in the NICU (6 wks) and then he took his 12 wks fmla when they came home. He just returned to work on May 4th! It was AWESOME having him home...such a HUGE help!
That's awesome! My H doesn't get much time off at all so he sacrificed and took off 8 working days, starting the day we went to the hospital to have the babies. (We went in at night but he had worked that day.) I
Do you need to give exact dates or not? We get 2 wks. He will take all of it right away so he can bond in the hospital etc. IF the twins are thriving and not NICU. If they are than we are waiting until they are gearing up for release and than he will take leave. I want to maximize Daddy/Baby bonding so this is how we are planning it. It is trickier w/twins.
