I'm sure it's been asked 10000 times - install carseat when?

in 3rd Trimester

When should we have our carseat installed?  I think I'm beginning to have the nesting instinct - I want to finish the nursery, install the carseat, pack for the hospital, and have my car detailed (um, aren't I supposed to want to clean, not want to pay someone to clean for me?!). 

Anyway, I  am pretty sure we don't need to do it for a while yet, but when do you ladies recommend?

    We are installing ours and having it inspected a month before we are due.

    We installed ours right around 36 weeks.

    I think I'll probably have DH do it around 35 weeks. That way we should have time to have it checked and still be ready in case I go early/right at full term, but not so early that it's just needlessly taking up space in the back seat for months.?

    Most of the times this question is asked, most people answer 36 weeks. HTH.

    DH will do it the day we leave the hospital. ?You get a little more laid back about that stuff when it's the 3rd baby. ?:)

    We'll do it probably around 36 weeks or so...after I wash the cover (it has been sitting in the garage for over a year).  We might wait longer, because putting the second car seat in means losing our back seat.  I figure worse case scenario DH has to install it while I'm in the hospital.  I know he'll run home at some point to check on DD.  Not to mention that when we had DD he went home every day for about an hour because he preferred to shower at home, he'd pick up odds and ends we had forgotten,etc., so I am thinking the same will apply here.

    We installed ours at 34 weeks I think it was. In our area we have car seat inspections monthly at a dealership in town so we had to base it around that!

    We were told to not do it too early because if we were in an accident then we would have to replace the base.

    Do it whenever you like, we did it a week or two before.
