Just FYI, if you are BFing and planning to pump, watch the first few pump sessions in terms of how well the breast shield is fitting with your nipple.  If you want, bring the shield into the hospital and ask the lactation consultants.  Took me a bit on my own with DD to figure out that my nips were larger than the standard breast shield size and pumping went a lot better once I upped the breast shield size.

I already know my nips (the areola part!) are too big for the standard shell. I'll be buying the larger size!

Totally ditto this!  That was the first thing my lactation consultant told me when she watched me pump.  And I have itty bitty breasts so I was super surprised that I had to get the largest flanges for my pump.

I have never used the sheild...I dont have a reason to use it?
