Parenting after a Loss

reasons LO might be spitting up everything if given in the bottle?

I can't figure this out! He was doing fine with bottle feeding my breast milk since he was born. In the last few weeks Ive been breast feeding more than giving him a bottle. In the last week he's been spitting up everything he gets from the bottle. He is fine when he nurses though. I thought it might be the nipple flow so I am using level 1 dr. brown but that hasn't helped at all.

We try to feed slowly but even after only 20 secs. he spits it all up. He's on Zantac for reflux which seems to be helping and like I said, he does fine when I nurse. Any ideas?

  • I would try a different bottle/nipple. I know you said you are using level 1, but all bottles are not created equal. We use First Years Breastflow bottles. They are VERY slow flowing..

  • We have had huge success with Bornfree bottles!!! DD has reflux too.
  • Our ds has reflux too and we love the Playtex Ventaire bottles.  We went through many kinds before we found one we liked, so don't be afraid to experiment!  I hope it gets better for you!
