I have a developmental speech question for you - DD doesn't seem to be moving on to consonant sounds. Everything is still "Ahh" or "Ooh" is there a way to encourage that (besides saying "babababa", "dadadada" and "mamamama" all the time)? When should I start to worry enough to bring it up with my laid back "it will happen when it happens" pedi? TIA
Re: SLPs
I'd be happy to send you some info as attachments if you want to give me your email. Beyond that though, it's perfectly normal for consonant sounds to only begin to emerge as late as 9 or 10 months. Just keep talking to your baby & reading to her, etc.
Thank you! I would appreciate any info you can give me - this is so not my area!
