**Minnas**

Hi!  Good luck with your move!  Enjoy the summer at the beach too :)  Sounds great.

I am very (very) loosely considering a job in the Upper East side of Manhattan.  DH is very opposed to it because he doesn't want to live in huge condo building.  I don't want to have an hour+ commute.

I didn't realize that your DH worked in Manhattan.  Can you tell me anything about places to live?  We don't need an acre of land, but we want a house with a small yard, at least.

Thanks!

Re: **Minnas**

  • on the UES, I would consider living in westchester. my DH works in midtown and take the ferry in from nj. (we're in monmouth county, kinda near long branch).

my ILs are in westchester and my MIL commutes to the city. (I think she works in the UES, although it may be UW).

there are a lot of cute little towns in westchester. ?I'll ask my DH when he gets home. he grew up in westchester and I'm sure he's a much better resource than I am.

what kind of work do you do? ?

    Sorry to butt in!

Isabella- Minnas is right, Westchester would be an easy commute for you. You would take the Metro North train into Grand Central, which is in on the east side.

If you want, look up some real estate sites and check out these towns, they are all nice wtih great schools: Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Eastchester, Bronxville, Pelham, Harrison.  Some areas of New Rochelle and White Plains are nice too, but they are bigger cities.

  • Hi!

Butting in here too...my brother and his family live in Pound Ridge.  It is a BEAUTIFUL little town with great homes and tons of outdoor parks/hiking/biking areas.
