Eating hands/sucking thumb?

Abby's new thing (well, it's actually been her thing for a little while, is eating her hands.  She looks like she is trying to get her whole hand in there, and it's not only when she's hungry.  Sometimes when she has just been fed, she does it just "for fun"

She is dangerously close to sucking her thumb. We have definately not encouraged this, but will live with it if it happens (I sucked mine, not too huge of a deal)

Anyone else's baby try to eat their hands at this age?  Any thumb suckers out there?  If she does figure it out and gets the thumb in there when Im not looking, I just wanted to see how many others were out there :)

  • T does the same thing even though she is not hungry, I have offered her a paci but she just prefers her hand

  • Emma was obsessed with her hands at that age and still is. I was worried that she would become a thumb sucker but she hasnt.  She now not only chews on her hands but everything else she grabs.
  • Jacob loves his hands.  He's been doing it for quite a while now.  He does suck his thumb at night but only until he falls asleep.  And he's always slobbery.  I am constantly wiping his hands off.
  • Mine has been doing this for a few weeks.. the thumb/pointer finger since birth.
  • Max is a huge fan of eating his hand, lol.  He always ends up with his hand in his mouth during tummy time.
  • Yep! Mine love their hands. At first I kept thinking they were hungry, but no, they just love chewing on them! I don't worry at all about it.
