Do you have any side effects, if so, please share them.?
I had mine put in on 4/6, I bled for the whole month, it finaly stopped a few day ago.My hair is falling out ( I know can be related to the pregnancy), but it's really bad, I look bald on one side. I'm extremely nauseous,?bloated, and breaking out like a 14 year old teenager, my sex drive is non existence, and now to top it off, I've been so depressed lately. ?I waited 2 cycles after having Sarah to have it inserted, I did not have any of those issues before that, not even during the pregnancy. I just cannot take it anymore, I'm seriously considering having it removed this week. I paid a lot for it, and really wished it would worked, but so far it's not. I don't want to?scare?anyone, we all?react to these things differently, because 2 of my girlfriends have it, and love it. I was hoping I would love it too, but it's not working for me at all. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing any of these side effects. ?
I'm so exhausted with zero energy, almost like I was in the first trimester all over again. Sarah is only waking up once in the middle of the night, so I know it's not baby related. ?
Re: If you have a Mirena IUD, pls come in.
Hi Tammy
?
So sorry that you are feeling so awful! ?I don't have the mirena BUT I am getting the paragard inserted next cycle and I have researched both IUD's for a couple months now.
One of the reasons why I didn't go with the mirena was because of the hormones and because of some of the side effects you listed especially hair loss, reduction in sex drive, acne and depression. ?Those are the ones that concerned me the most and it seems you have all of them! ?if you google "mirena vs. paragard" you will find some interesting info also check out "IUD divas." ?I just do not do well on hormonal birth control plus I have MTHFR so BCP's are a no go. ?DH doesn't want to get snipped for another 5 years or so. ?
Most women that feel the way you do, get their IUD's out and almost feel immediately better. ?I say talk to your doctor asap!! ? ?It could most definitely be your IUD. ?Maybe you'd do better on the non-hormonal one.
Also, if you are having any joint or muscle pain - that can also be a side effect of mirena. ?
Hope you feel better soon! ?Keep us updated. ?I'd be interested in hearing what your doctor says. ?((big hug))
Sorry you're having such a bad experience with the Mirena.?
I'm usually VERY sensitive to hormonal BC, but have had a great experience with it this past year. I originally wanted the Paraguard, but that makes periods heavier and crampier whereas mine are regularly too heavy and crampy. ?
I think you should give it another month or two to see if your body adjusts. Good luck!?
Thanks ladies. The sad part is, I had the paragard IUD after I had DS, and it was really good, but my period was heavier, and a lot more cramps, but it was not bad at all, this time I thought why not try the Mirena, but with all these side effects, I cannot deal with it anymore. The depression, and the hair loss is the worst for me, I hate that my hair is getting so thin, and it's getting worst. I had a long talk with DH and we both decided it was not worth it,so I'm calling tomorrow and scheduling the appt to have it remove, I'm not sure what we are going to do to prevent pregnancy beside just condoms, we'll see.
?
Thanks ladies?
?
Ooooh... "just condoms" is dangerous territory. ?we talked about that too but since we don't want another child, just too dangerous for us. ?good luck with your decision. ??
I got mine put in in December and bled for 2 mnths, had terrible cramps, and pretty bad acne. I was ready to take it out. This month my period is very light, no cramps, and only slight acne. The side effects are going away.
I don't know that I could deal with depression or hair loss though. GL
The bleeding, I was willing to work with, but the depression, and the hair loss is a no no for me.
