AF question

This month AF has arrived with cramps up the wazooo. normally on my really crampy day its my heavy day complete with bright red blood and clots. I took advil last night bc I had a headache and again this morning because of the cramps, I took 2 more about 2 hours ago but they dont seem to be working. The cramps have dulled but arent gone like they usually are for some reason. along with that my flow isnt very heavy and is more pink than red.

I know that Advil can thin your blood but would it make sense that taking so many advil may have resulted in a thinner more pink bleeding, its almost like watery blood, maybe a stupid question but is thin blood mean watery?

sorry if this is confusing its hard for me to put into words

Re: AF question

  • I've never heard of advil changing blood like that. Sounds like you might just be having a weird AF. Hope it gets better soon.

  • Advil only has a blood thining effect in very high doses. Asprin is what you're thinking of i think. so i don't think that advil would be causing that.
  • And your menstrual blood isn't like blood from your veins.  It's the lining of your uterus and that isn't something that would be thinned like that.
  • Its weird then, its just light water blood, i do see some "chunks" so to speak but they are tiny and nothing like the clots I usually have.

I am also wondering because the day before i started spotting 3 days ago, DH and I had some "roughish" intercourse. I know I am probably overreacting but I keep wondering if he messed anything up in there, that sounds super dumb though when I read that out loud.

hormones are taking my brain cells....its been a long weekend.

i guess the better question is have you ever had a clearish pink type of blood during af on the same day as heavy cramping?

  • It's likely that your cervix was irritated. ?That's normal.
  • Sounds like your cervix was irritated maybe. I'd just ride it out and see how it goes.?
  • Sounds like a weird AF, I get those from time to time. I would try taking Midol, they work better then Advil IMO.
