waxing question. . .maybe TMI

Anyone do your own waxing at home?  I bought a kit that was supposed to be great for "sensitive" areas.  I followed all the directions and it only took one or two hairs off and hurt like hell.  I hate shaving all the time but the waxing pain just doesn't seem worth it.  Is it supposed to be that bad?  Should I just suck it up and pay for a professional?  How much does that typically cost?  Thanks!

    Please don't ever do your own bikini waxing!  You should for sure pay a professional.  I get brazilian waxing done and it costs me $75 with tip.  I think that a regular bikini wax at my salon is $40. 

    Paying is so worth it.

    Definitely not worth the trouble or pain at home. I pay $30 plus tip and that would cover a Brazilian if I could take the pain.

    I've always thought about this because DH would LOVE it.  I don't know if I could take the pain (of doing it professionally) though.  Plus being all exposed....  Tongue Tied
