Does your birth order have anything to do with how many kids you want?
I'm a middle child and promised that I would never have more than 2 kids because I didn't want any of my kids to be the middle child. DH is also the middle child but he wants 3 kids.
Re: Birth order and how many kids...
PCOS, Ectopic & M/C of twins October 2010, Currently TTC #2
I've always wanted 4 because 2 isn't enough, and I wanted an even number so nobody got left out.
Also, I am the oldest of last "batch" of kids in my family (so the oldest of 4), but of all my dad's kids I am number 5 of 8.
Nope. I am one of 4 for my dad and I am the only girl. So I got pretty spoiled and I am one of 3 for my mom and SD I was the youngest. So I am pretty spoiled.
I only want one child, because my body does not handle pg well.
I'm the oldest, and have one brother, he's the youngest and has a brother and sister.
We definitely want 2, but are open for the possibility of a third.
I am the oldest of two and DH is the younger of two. We are having one and seeing how that goes. Neither of us got along so great with our sibling so that is where that comes from.
DH and I are both the youngest of 3.
We want 2, maybe 3, because like PPs have said, the sibling experience is great! I loved growing up with 2 big brothers, and DH had a brother close to his age that has always been more like one of his buddies.

I'm the oldest of 3 and D is the youngest of 4. He would like four, but the decision is mine. I'm down for 2 or 3, depending on me age, ability to get KU again and how good or bad the next pregnancy ends up being.
We will start TTC #2 next September.
I'm the middle, and DH is the oldest of 2...
I also, never wanted to have a middle child, I always thoguht 2 or 4... but realistically, now we're thinking 1 MAYBE 2...
DH is the youngest of 10, I am an only child.
We will be having two (maybe three).
I want a big family - not octo-duggar big or anything. I could go for 3 kids. Mr. J wants 2. I think I can talk him into an extra one. LOL.
I want five kids. He wants four, max.
Abe and I are both the youngest in our families. He is the youngest of three. I am the youngest of four.
I loved having a relatively big family. I always thought it was fun, though I did play alone a lot. It's nice having adult siblings now because we're all pretty close and there to support one another and I think that's important.
I'm the 4th of 5, 3rd girl. DH is middle w/ older brother and younger sister. We both want 3. In DH's family, they are all spaced 6 years apart. So his sister didn't even know their brother. That's too far for my liking.
I am the youngest. Have 1 older brother. DH is the youngest and has an older sister.
We agreed on two. But are open to a third. Pregnancy does not bode well with me though. I get stinkin complications every time. Boooo... so that may make or break our decision right there.
This.
We are shooting for four, but will just have to see what happens.
I am the oldest of 3 girls. My H is the youngest of 4. H and 3 of his siblings were adopted. I want 3 of our own and adopt 1. He wants 2 of our own and adopt 1.
I have an older brother. My DH is the middle child (has an older brother and twin younger sisters.)
I am open to having 3 and he only wants 2. We have 2 now and most likely will stop but we are giving it a year before we make that decision permanent.
My Married Bio
Love, marriage and a baby carriage
Between 2 marriages for my mom, and 3 for my dad, I am #3 of 4, but the only girl. I would like 3 kids, DH is adamant on only having 2. He is the oldest of 3 and feels that they had to "go without" some luxury items as kids because there were 3 of them. I keep telling him that is BS, the reason they may have had to go without (because honestly who really knows) is because his mom stayed at home for a while, and when she did return to work, it was only PT.
I am the youngest of 4 girls and he is the oldest of 2 boys. I would love to have 4 but he said 2. Maybe we can compromise and go with 3 (but i live even numbers). Like I always say though have to see how the first ones goes!
I am the oldest of 4 (2 brothers, 1 sister); DH is the youngest of 4 (2 brothers, 1 sister). He would be content with 2 but smiles when I say one or two more. I would ideally like 4 (biological or adopted - any combo).
We aren't prepared to start the adoption process yet (DH's hours got cut 25% so money is tight - and we were hoping to be in a bigger house for that) and the ttc isn't going well - so I think we'll be happy with what we get when we get it!
I am an only and if we had the money I would love to have 6 kids. DH is the oldest of 2 for his parents and #3 of 4 for his dad. He would be good with 4 and this may be the more reasonable option(again if we have the money to do so). Right now we are planning on 2 but that could change. (I like the even numbers).
"You're gonna miss this You're gonna want this back You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast..."
I'm the youngest of 3 to my father and the oldest of four to my mother, so have 5 siblings. I'm the baby in one family and the oldest in another.
My husband is the 2nd oldest of 10.
We'd like 4-6 children. If my body doesn't handle being pregnant well, we are open to adoption.
