BFing Mamas

Did you notice your kiddo having a problem nursing on one side post-shots?  I don't remember this being an issue after the two months, but kiddo has protested nursing off of righty since his shots yesterday - I think maybe his shot site on his left leg is getting mushed when he tries to go for righty?  Sucks because righty is always more productive than lefty so now I'm super lopsided Stick out tongue

  • I didn't notice a difference after DD's shots, but I wanted to add that my lefty is my over-achiever.  I always pump twice as much from that side.  DD will nurse from both, but she always seems happier when I move her to the left side.  Odd how that happens.

  • Liam just had his shots on Monday. i didn't notice him having an aversion to one side, but he definitely was eating less than usual overall for about a day and a half afterwards. (and it's my lefty that's the overachiever! lollllllll)
  • I didn't notice a difference with DD's nursing after shots either.  In fact, at daycare the day after her 4 month shots she wouldn't take a bottle at all and I ended up having to leave work early because she needed to eat and she ate fine nursing.  But it is highly possible that if LO is uncomfortable he/she may not eat as well after shots.  And my lefty is also the overachiever!

have you tried different holds? Like cradle on the left and football on the right so he's always on the same leg?

I was going to give the same recommendation.  DD is picky about preferring to lie on her left side.  I have used cradle for the right breast and football for the left.
