Babies: 0 - 3 Months

when did you quit wearing your mat. clothes?

I'm dying to wear some clothes besides stretch pants and mat. clothes.  Plus my clothes are all cool weather clothes and its in the 90s here now.  DS is 4 weeks old and I'm still not in my "bigger post partum clothes" left from after DD.  I'm sooo frustrated!

Re: when did you quit wearing your mat. clothes?

  • I wore them for about a week, then I just wore gauchos for a couple of weeks, then I went to Target and bought some cheap shorts and capris to get me through the summer. I'm hoping by then I can fit back into my prepreg clothes!

  • I just fit into a pre pregnancy pair of jeans about three days ago.  I was pretty proud of myself to be honest.  I was back into my pre pregnancy shirts right away.
  • I wore them for a week and then gleefully moved back to my normal clothes. Haven't lost anymore weight since the first month though :(

I didn't even try to fit into my old clothes until was about 1.5 pp.  I pretty much spent the first 2 months in yoga pants and DH's sweatshirts (but it was nice, because it was winter & I wasn't going anywhere).
  • I am still in my "smaller" maternity clothes from the first couple months of my pregnancy.  I do fit into some of my non-maternity shirts and 1 pair of jeans but that is it.  I have no clue what to do for shorts this summer, unless a miracle happens I guess I need to go shopping.  I feel your frustration.
  • I'm still in some mat pants for work b'c I can't afford a new wardrobe right now. But about 6 weeks ago I bought non-mat clothes and wear them as much as possible.
  • Wore them for about a week then it was sweats and yoga pants til I broke down and bought a pair of jeans.
  • I never really did wear maternity clothes...I got put on bedrest at 27 weeks so I was home in sweats and such until delivery at 34 weeks, 4 days.  I missed out on the last few weeks of pregnancy (when the baby really grows) so I was back to my pre-pregnancy size roughly 7 days after I was discharged.

    Sorry, not much help here.

  • It was about 6 w pp until I attempted pre-preg pants.  I had a c section and had a lot of swelling and regular pants hurt my insision.  Now I can wear some of pre preg pants.  The ones I can't fully zip and button I wear with a belly band.

Well, some things from pre-pregnancy fit,but they fit in a totally different way.  However, I'm one jean size bigger than pre-pregnancy still, so I had to buy some of those.  I still wear a few of my maternity t-shirts and such because right now I stay at home and it's much easier than buying all new t-shirts (I'm nursing, so my breast size has not gone back to pre-pregnancy size.)  I've lost all but 11 pounds from my pregnancy, though, so I'm getting there.

  • Still wearing my mat jeans!!  Although they are too big now, it's just that I haven't had a chance to buy new ones yet.  The pre-pg pants may never fit me again . . . ahahahahahahahahahaha.
  • For about 2 weeks. I just started wearing my prepregnancy jeans this past weekend. It feels great and I even managed to fit into one size smaller than my prepregnancy size. Guess I owe it all to bf'ing! LOL.

  • For about a week, and then I was able to fit in my PP clothes again. I had lost all of my weight + 10 lbs by then (hooray breastfeeding!!).
  • pants with 6 weeks, tops still not in - boobs too big!  I refuse to buy bigger sized clothes.
promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • I wore them for about 6 weeks then I bought 2 pairs of jeans that actually fit.  That was stupid because my regular jeans fit 2 weeks later.  I could not just hang out in comfy clothes... I wasn't feeling like me unless I was getting dressed.  It also didn't help that I did have to leave the house everyday to go to the NICU so not getting dressed was not an option.

  • I'm still in between.  I wear my mat pants but they are too big, however, my pre-preg jeans i can't zip up just yet...and i'm also wearing lots of sweatpants and sweat capris.

shirts, ican wear some shirts, but don't feel too comfy with my loose stomach..lol.  i still wear some mat shirts, but for the summer, i think i'll stick to sun dresses til i lose my butt...all my mat clothes are winter clothes too and i don't wanna buy much since i'm in between sizes

  • I'm in between sizes, but I put all my maternity clothes away two weeks ago...I still need to lose more weight to fit into most of my pants, but most of tops fit.
