high school graduation present ?

in Parenting after a Loss

My nephew is graduating in june from HS. We plan on giving him money. I was thinking $100. DH thinks that I am nuts, he thinks its too much.

How much would you give?

How much do you spend on baby & wedding showers?

    I think it really depends on how close you are to your nephew and your Sister or SIL and brother or BIL.  I think $100 is an appropriate amount for high school graduation.

    For me it when it comes to baby/wedding showers it depends once again on how close I am to the person.  If it is a close friend then easily $100 otherwise more towards the $50 or $25.

    Ditto PP- I would think 100 is appropriate for a family member.

    For baby showers of friends that arent terribly close I spend 50.  For weddings we usually dont give less than 100 pp assuming we attend.
