we had good friends of ours over the other night with their 2yr old daughter. Not once did they call her by her name. All night it was "get the baby her sippy cup" "the baby needs to be changed". the poor girls isn't going to know she has a name!
I always call Parker by his name, just curious if my friends are freaks.

Re: do you call your LO "the baby" or by name??
We almost exclusively call our LO Bean. DS and DH have the same name so that's probably why we call him Bean so much. We wanted to avoid having both of them named Mac, but we were also trying to find a name for DS that we liked as much as Mac. We couldn't come up with a name we agreed on so here we are.
We need to call him Mac more though, cuz, you're right, he won't know his own name!
I actually call him "the boy" a lot! But we call him all kinds of names. baby, his actual name, nicknames.
But I hear you- for one, by 2 years old, they aren't a "baby" anymore and I think it's odd. Second, when that's ALL they call their child.... I feel it keeps away from their personality, keeps them from being an individual.
I have a friend who always refers to her DD as 'baby sister' to their son. At first cute, but at over a year old? It seems like her son should call his sister by her name!
