christening?

Baby's due at the end of Oct, do you think it'd be too early to do it at Christmas? Since Christmas is on a Friday this year, I was thinking we could do it on Saturday or Sunday. We live about 8 hrs from home and our families are planning to come out here for Christmas this year.

Are you Catholic? A lot of Catholic churches won't do baptisms during Advent. Oh, never mind you said the Saturday or Sunday after.

  • I say if your families will be out here anyway, go for it. As long as your church will accomodate you. We thought of doing the same thing at Thanksgiving but we're not sure if our families would be more annoyed at having to travel during the holiday or not. So we've back off that idea.

Our church said we could have the baptism whenever we wanted. So I don't think that's too early, if that's what you're worried about.

  • Do it whenever you like.  I'm having DD christened as soon as I possibly can.
