Trying to Get Pregnant

Ug, Dh wants to TTA for another month.

Just wanted to rant about it.  He wants to TTA this month because he has been sick with a very bad cold for about a month (missed three days of work) and wants to be perfectly healthy before we try.  I don't really understand it, but whatever!   Perhaps he doesn't want the pressure to perform at a certain time, but come on.  I think he actually needs another month to wrap his head around the idea.  hmm.

Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

  • IMO your assessment of him needing another month to wrap his head around it, is accurate.  Sometimes they drag their heels. Sounds like excuses to me.

    Good luck!

  • I can totally relate.  My DH has been putting off TTC for at least 6 months now.  I am willing to give him some time but I am starting to get annoyed.  I think I finally nailed down what month we will start TTC.

  • He probably just needs another month to get prepared.  Allow him to wait because its great to have a fully supportive husband while TTCing and PG - its a bumpy road and you need his support!  GL!

  • It's definitely better to wait until you are both sure about TTC.  Even if he's just using the cold as an excuse, you don't want to impose any undue stress on him.  TTC is stressful enough!

You guys are probably right.  I am so ready to get started!  But I need him to be totally on board.  Just worried about how long it will take us, like every other woman on here. :)  Also, I am unemployed right now and my job market is totally dry.  I want to have the kid soon, so I can have the kid out already when the job market hopefully improves next year.

    And, go KU!

  • We waited a month longer than expected because we had a lot of other things going on at that time too, but I really think DH needed a little time to accept we were really going to start trying! ?GL to you and DH!
