2nd Trimester

growing aches and pains

I woke up early this morning, around 3am, with what I believe to be RLP.  It wasn't the shooting pain kind rather the dull ache that seemed to last a while.  DH wanted me to stay home from work and rest so of course I didn't argueSmile

The majority of the ache has subsided but I still have some discomfort on either side of my belly and my back.  I have no fever, bleeding, nausea, chills, etc.  I am sure they are just the normal growing pains but to be on the safe side I put a call into the OB but haven't heard back yet.  Usually the aches subside after a nice bath or long nap but no luck today so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Thanks!

Re: growing aches and pains

  • I have not had the exact aches (mine don't stretch to my back) but let me tell ya, I have had numerous dull aches and cramping-all chalked up to stretching...

Good luck, hope the pain doesn't last and that you get some reassurance from your doctor :)

  • My aches and pains usually come and go... not so much constant.  I hope you feel better!!!
  • I had the exact same pain on Friday night.  It was constant and lasted about six hours.  That was the first time I had experienced RLP like that before.  It's usually fleeting pains in one isolated area of my abdomen, but this was a dull ache that  I felt in my back and all over my lower abdomen.  I called the doctor on Saturday and was told it was RLP and not to be too concerned.
