OMG...i was all excited to use them for the first time this month because my cycles are so random. Most of the days, however, I either forget completely or I can't hold my pee long enough so I sort of feel like this cycles a wash.

The title of this made me smile. I had trouble at first, but I got in a good habit of peeing around 9 a.m. and then limiting my water the rest of the day until I did the test around 1 or 2. GL. Like anything else it takes some getting use to but you can do it.
I always tested after work and never got a positive OPK. Then I started testing at 1pm and I did. I also checked cheapies that looked almost or sorta positive with a digital.
In my experience, the Answer dipsticks are pretty sensitive. ?I use them twice a day. ?It doesn't matter if I haven't held pee for "long enough", or even if I use them first thing in the morning. ?They've always been good for me. ?I've tried other brands (like First Response) and couldn't even get a positive out of them. ?So you may want to experiment with other brands and see if FMU will work anyway.
I have gotten pretty good at holding my pee but I used to always second guess the reading. For the past few months I have started backing up the cheapies with a digital when I think I have a positive. It has been working great so far.

I always did mine on my lunch hour. You don't want to use FMU and you don't want to be over hydrated. Just tuck a few in your purse and use them at work, that's what I did. That way I always remembered. I don't think I ever held my pee for any extended period either, I'm not that disciplined! haha. GL!
