Trying to Get Pregnant

1st PP AF

Does anyone know how common it is to get pg before you would even get your 1st PP AF?  I haven't gotten one yet, and I spoke to my OB today about TTC #2 and still not having AF, and he said it probably wouldn't return until I am done BF.  So, I wonder if it hasn't arrived because of BF or the PCOS, or combo of both.  I am pretty sure I would not get pg without the help of meds, and he told me that today, but I wasn't sure how common it was. TIA

  • Ditto pp, try the baby boards.

But from what I've been told by my friends that have had babies, AF may not show for a long, long time (especially if you are BFing).

  • Most of us actually haven't had a baby yet.
  • I don't know about PCOS, but I didn't get my first pp AF until I completely stopped BFing after DD was a year and a week old.  I was charting before hand to see if I could detect ovulation, but we did not get pg before I had my period.  I don't know how common it is, however.  It certainly happens, but I have not really seen or heard any stats on it.

I'm just hoping that if I don't get PG this cycle, my cycles get back to normal relatively quickly... I hear that they can be wacky at first too.

  • I just had my first PP AF last month in March, so that means I didn't have my period for two years and two days.  I am still nursing about three times a day.  My OB said that is completely normal.  I just and my second so it looks like I may be 'normal' again.  I did ovulate last month, so it looks like we may be able to conceive without completely weaning DS just yet, though we are still trying to cut down on his nursing.
