My friend gave me her CBEFM machine over the weekend. She only used it one month and just delivered her second baby. Question: Does this take the place of OPKs? Is it more reliable? She lost the manual so I have to pull the instructions off the website. Does Costco sell the test strips? Thanks!
Re: My friend gave me her CBEFM
Luck you!
I'm not sure about the CBEFM specifically, but I know for me, when I was using the OV-Watch, I still did OPKs and kept charting. The watch wasn't always right, so I wanted to have other things like temps and OPKs to back up my suspicions.
You have to make sure to do a HARD reset on the CBEFM to clear your friend's past data. I wrote out the instructions here.
I got my sticks off early-pregnancy-tests.com for $40 I think. I also used cheapie OPKs combined with the monitor to verify O. Also keep charting/temping while using it to confirm O along with the machine.
I never recieved a peak on mine, but I got PG the 3rd cycle I used it. My 3rd cycle was my first cycle I O'd before CD20 though....so if you have long cycles it might not work as well.
HTH!
