What are your thoughts on spray tanning? I'm in a wedding in 3 weeks and still white as a ghost as the sun just started shining in this northern state. I know tanning beds are out of the question, but what about tanning lotions and spray? My dr. didn't have a straight answer. She said she couldn't find enough conclusive research to say yeah or nay...

WHO OPENED THE GATES????
standing up??
Am I the only person who reads a post like this and IMMEDIATELY goes to see what week they are in?
For anyone reading this who may have been banned...Isn't that over yet?

This, exactly.
There is no reason to take unnecessary risks, IMO.
Not sure how to do the quote thing..
But yes I am standing up as well. There are so many conflicting things on the internet. I am leaning towards doing it. My Doc didn't have a straight answer either.
My friend did it and so far her baby is fine.
Yeah, because now the non annoying newly 2nd triers are now getting a bad rep.
Wait, because you embrace your natural skin tone makes you a mess? I am pasty white but don't give a darn and thing I still look damn good.

I think this is a personal decision, and I would recommend doing some reading on the subject and doing what you feel comfortable with. People on here are going to give you different answers.
I was curious about this about a month ago just to see if there were options, and I googled it and came up with my own decision. There is no conclusive evidence on the short-term or long-term effects of tanning while pregnant, however from what I gathered was that spray tanning includes many chemicals that are applied to your skin and can get in your blood stream that could affect the baby. For me, that made me decide its not worth it to potentially expose my baby to these chemicals that could be harmful and I can definitely wait until after the baby is born. However, others may feel differently.
I believe that I did see somewhere that there are some self-tanning lotions that are more water-based and are safer to be applied during pregnancy if you wanted to reasearch those.
That's great that YOU think that. The fun thing about these boards is we all get an opinion. Sorry, but to me, pink, pale and pasty just isn't attractive. Especially in the summer when the sun is shining. I'm not cool with looking like I crawled out of a cave.
Well, here's my opinion again: You lack self-confidence if you must change yourself to think you don't look a "mess".
And I would take some hick from Kentuckys opinion to heart? Hold your breath darlin.
Well aren't we the sensitive one. I'll ignore your stereotyping and asinine ASSumptions.
It only seems fair since you assume I lack self confidence because I like to have tan in the summer. You really couldn't be any more wrong about that. "We" as in you and..... who? Certainly not me. Fiesty, honest and opinionated, yes. Sensitive, not hardly.
