2nd Trimester

Next step...What to do?

Ok so Im 21 weeks, the nursery is painted, the furniture is built, I have the bedding, what do I need to do next? I feel like I have missed the boat on something and I don't know what to do. I sat in the nursery yesterday holding a teddy bear thinking if am ready for this. Sad I know! Maybe even crazy.

Suggestions?

I have been wondering the same thing myself!  Funny, I am also 21 weeks!  I am nervous that once baby comes, I will sit there and feel that I am not ready, I can't do this.  :(  I doubt we are the only ones!

  • Definitely a shower is next so that you'll be able to get the things you didn't get afterwards & then you'll have everything.

I'm coming up on 29 weeks.   We just painted the top half of the nursery this past Saturday.   DH ripped out the old carpet and padding yesterday.   Next will be painting the bottom half then installing the hardwood.   We're way behind you - so no worries.

we have the crib, and glider - still in their boxes, and dresser in storage.    That's it.

  • If you have everything ready so far, I would suggest relaxing! Seriously, catch up on some reading finish any projects you have going around the house and take some time for YOU. You will be happy you did it once LO is here.

  • Relax! :) I have everything pretty much ready too. I need a few small things for the nursery. Now, I am going to enjoy my summer! I wanted the nursery done before I got too big and uncomfortable to do anything. I also went ahead and planted flowers this weekend. Once again,  I didn't want to wait too long and not be happy about doing it.
  • Have you registered? I know it's early seeing as now my first shower isn't til August, but we're getting ready to do that. Also, what about scrapbooking?  I found myself in the same situation as you (and I have the whole summer off of work!) so I needed something to do with my time so that I could keep busy when not at work. Scrapbooking has been fun, and it is actually more time consuming than I thought!

  • Put your feet up and relax for a while.  You have a great start!  Leave some things to do once time starts to get closer.  I've gotten advice from friends that the closer you get to your due date the better it is to have something to keep you busy.  (Otherwise you wait and wait endlessly)
