Not gonna lie. . . I had to pee so bad because the tech was running an HOUR behind! I actually cried (I know, I felt like a freak). So I just went, actually, I went twice. It was fine!
i def. told the hubby that i'm not going to hold it if i really can't...when you drink that much water, your bladder will fill back up in like 10 min anyway!
haha. I have never had to have a full bladder at any of my ultrasounds. I guess it must be a difference in the brands of machines or something.
This. The only time I have ever had to have a full bladder was a few years ago when I was having an ultrasound on my ovaries. And that was NOT fun. I am so glad that all of my pregnancy ultrasounds have been done with an empty bladder.
Good luck to you! Hopefully you'll be having so much fun watching your baby that you will forget about how bad you have to pee.
I had to go so bad at my last U/S that I had tears in my eyes. My Boss told me that at her 25 week U/S she peed her pants and they had to give her scrubs.
I filled my bladder, there was a delay, so I "went" twice immediately before the u/s and there was still enough in there. Just don't get to the point of no return. G/L!
I really thought I was going to pee myself at the last one. DH kept telling me the appointment was at 2:15 and since I was driving I didn't double check. Well it wasn't until 2:45, the second appointment was at 3:15, I was going to kill him.
Good to know you fill right back up. The Tech also said I had plenty of water so I could cut back a little next time.
I've been lucky with my U/S, they don't require you to have a full bladder. But I did have an U/S a few years back for an ovarian cyst and I had to drink enormous amounts of water. It was complete torture! I think that is one of the most uncomfortable things I've had to endure. I thought I was going to pee all over the table and the tech....

Apparently they want your bladder full so they can get a better view of your cervix and take a measurement. I was so miserable, I thought I was going to pop. But they let me go right away. On our second U/S I didn't have to have a full bladder at all.

Mine was too full at my nt scan and they had me empty some - twice (they were running 45 minutes late. this time they didnt even say to drink extra. Im just going to drink like i normally do - I have to pee all the time anyway.
I hear you. I had to get an ultrasound for an ovarian cyst and had to drink 32 oz of water 1 hr before the appt then they were way behind schedule b/c of course the day of my appt was the first day they were using some new computer system and no one knew how to look up records...it was crazy but luckily the tech took a few pictures then let me pee before she took the rest b/c I literally couldn't lay still on the table anymore I had to go so badly!
