For those that wear Spanx..?

I'm looking into getting these but I see there are many different kinds, plus some different brands (I just looked them up on macys.com and "flexees" came up..is that the same thing?)

In any event just wondering if anyone here had any experience with any of them..brands? ones you liked? or ones you hated? figured this was a good place to come to ask, since it's the thanks of my twins that I need these ;-)

thanks ladies!

Re: For those that wear Spanx..?

  • I have worn Spanx before. I had a black tie wedding and a very form fitting dress. This was before pg. It kept everything in place and nice and smooth. I think I just had the tummy version. Even the tummy version has good thigh support.

I am sure I will be wearing spanx more after the babies are born. As for the other brands, I am sure they work just as well. I think Spanx has turned into a generic term like kleenex.

  • I wore the spanx pantyhose a couple weekends ago.  I have to say they fit well and didn't do the stomach roll down thing.  I give them a thumbs up.

  • I've worn Spanx and Assets (the Spanx line they sell at Target). Both work, but the Spanx are seriously heavy duty - I'd go with those if you really want it completely sucked in and smooth.
  • Thanks ladies! And thanks for the info on the Target brand. I didn't even know they carried them there. Maybe I'll look into those for more everyday wear, and the Spanx for the wedding I have coming up.

    Thanks again!

  • I had a pair. They were to small after I had the kids though.. suck. Target makes them also, but under the brand "Assets". I had the higher power ones and am considering getting another set for my sisters wedding in October.

I like the real Spanx more than the Assets at Target because Assets seemed to roll a bit on me.

I used "high power" for my wedding (mid thigh to under bra) and I went down an entire size with them on!

wow..that's great to know..thanks! Did they "roll down" or anything? I read a review on Amazon that those specific ones rolled down...but they were the ones I was thinking about getting.

    Thanks :)

  • go up a size if you are on the edge of their recommended height/weight.  I didn't and when I first wore them I hated them because they were too tight and the top would roll.  Now that I've lost 10 lbs they fit perfect.  I got the Spanx brand with the short leg and top that goes to just under your boobs.  It was $35.
  • I wore a spanx to my shower last weekend with a dress - it worked great!  Let's you walk around and not worry about anything jiggling or looking bumpy.  I second the pp about going up a size if even close to it.  I wore the mid thigh to over-the-belly version.
  • I like the Spanx Higher Power.  I have Assets, Spanx, and some that I bought at Kohls (not sure of the brand) and I think that the fabric is nicer on the spanx.  I have not have any problems with the spanx rolling down.  Also, because they come up so high, you don't get any rolls of fat hanging out over the top.
