What to use for cradle cap?

Emma is developing a mild case of cradle cap.  Any ladies use a product that worked well? Thanks!

Re: What to use for cradle cap?

  • Olive oil. Put it on, let it sit for a couple of hours (put a hat on) and then gently exfoliate with a washcloth in the bath.?

DD's pedi told us to use original selsun blue. We used it twice and it was gone. Put a tiny amount on her head, lather it up, let it sit for 5 minutes & rinse very carefully. Don't get it in her eyes. ?

  • Somebody bought us a product called "Cradle Cap" that worked wonderfully.
  • andrew's got so bad (he also has excema) that the pedi told us to use a good dandruff shampoo. worked like a charm. but, his was REALLY bad.
  • All we ever did was use olive oil & we also brushed her hair frequently.  HTH!
  • We use baby oil instead of olive but same technique as PP.
  • We did olive oil also...put it on about an hour before his bath with a cheapo hat on top that we didn't mind getting ruined, then washed his hair and brushed it with a soft brush in the bath. ?It was pretty much all gone in one go.

  • Hyrdocortizone cream works really well. We use a little at night after a bath. It works great. We also use baby oil or cradle cap cream.
