Show me your playrooms.

I don't think we're going to be moving for a while due to the economy so, while I have visions of the most beautiful playroom in the world I am going to have to settle for the fact that our family room is our playroom right now.  I need some storage/organization solutions that aren't going to break the bank (I have some ideas of things for DH to build but he's got about 1000 other projects in the meantime).

Show me your playrooms (if they double as a living space that would help me even more).  Also, if you wouldn't mind sharing your favorite toy storage solution and where you found it that would probably help me greatly!

Thanks ladies!

I need to take some new pictures of our playroom, since I just did a little organizing and got some new additions for it. I'll try to do that tonight! I don't have any great storage solutions though. I just use big square laundry baskets. They're cheap. :P

  • We converted our formal living room into a play room. ?We're not formal living room people anyway. ?Our family room was just to dangerous with a granite coffee table and big screen tv. ?Tons of stuff to climb. ?I think the best play areas are ones with a lot of space for them to just crawl. ?I have a not so great picture of it in my blog. ?
  • We just converted our family room to a play room about a month ago.  There are a few pics in my blog, but I'll try to link here, too:

We ended up converting our former entertainment center(s) into toy storage -- I have a bunch of fabric bins I bought for under $5 at Garden Ridge to keep the smal stuff contained.  I will admit it isn't the most baby-friendly storage -- my DD likes to open & close the doors and fingers have been pinched a few times.  But we didn't really want to spend $$ on something new and we love our furniture too much to get rid of it (wow, does that make me sound like a bad parent?).  I've seen some cute storage cubes / bins at Target (similar to what Jenni has in her play room) -- they really aren't too pricey.

    Have fun decorating! :)

  • OK, here goes... I always have a hard time adding pictures so hopefully this won't be impossible to read when I'm finished...

Our 3-season porch is our living room (March through November) and also the playroom.  It's a gigantic 12x12... here I come, Better Homes & Gardens!  I have these RADASS Little Tikes Mission Design Wood Storage Centers that I got at Wal-Mart (online only) for $170 each.  They are awesome!  They look like furniture and are great for organization, which is really nice for DH and I after the kids are in bed and everything is cleaned up we can feel like we're still in our living room, not in a daycare center, kwim??  LOL!  However, a couple of people who've tried to buy them recently have said they can't find them, not even on Little Tikes' website, so I think they might have suspended production or something.

Here come the pictures, I hope they work and I don't eff this up...

    Clean and pretty:
