I got some cold smoked salmon to make a salmon dip and now I've heard a coupe of times to not to eat smoked fish because of listeria. Are you guys avoiding it??
You can eat smoked salmon as long as it is the "shelf-stable" kind - i.e. doesn't need refridgeration. Comes in a vacuum pack.
If it is the kind of smoked salmon that you need to keep in the fridge (ie purchased from the deli section), you are suppose to only eat it if it has been heated. It is the listeria issue again.

I'd eat it if I trusted the source. I am pretty mellow about that stuff though (I already had cheese from Italy! Omg! Lol).
