IUI#3 = OUCH!
Well, I'm back from IUI #3 and the RE got the catheter in there "really good." But it took him what seemed like 10,000 years to get it in there, and he kept having to put all these instruments inside me and readjusting the speculum. And the whole time it was causing major cramping. Then, when he put the catheter in...oh holy hell it hurt. It felt like he had put a knife in my uterus. It's been almost 2 hours now and it still hurts.
Anywho, so my FYI to anyone planning to do an IUI, take some tylenol beforehand. I did not, and it hurt more than my HSG. My RE was like "yeah, we usually don't tell people to take any painkillers before an IUI, but it's not a bad idea." You think?

TTC #2, Operative hysteroscopy March 2011; IVF #1 long lupron protocol April 2011-cancelled due to poor response; IVF #2 flare protocol May 2011=hospitalization due to abdominal hemorrhage during ER and no fert due to MFI issues. Moving onto international adoption from Moldova January 2013!

For number two I reminded her what happened the last time and it was much better. The cramps hurt soooo bad that day!

Ironically, it was #3 for me also that was excruciatingly painful. I know what you mean about feeling like a knife in the ute.
