Lucia?

Opinions on Lucia (Lu-che-a)

I'm sure everyone will pronounce differently but nn will most like by Lucy anyways.

  • I like it a lot, but I think the "che" pronunciation works best if you have an Italian(-sounding) last name.  With that caveat, I think it's a fantastic name.
  • I would probably mispronounce it. It always throws me off.

  • My husband was born and raised in Italy and has always loved the name. Thanks for the replies.
  • I like it. My best friend's mom is named Lucia and they call her Luci.
  • I have a friend with that name, but she pronounces it Lu-sha. A lot of people call her Lu-see-a until she corrects them in the pronunciation, but I love it.

  • I like it, but I've always pronounced it Loo-shah like the island St. Lucia.  I don't know if I like Lu-che-a.
  • Not a fan of the name itself and especially not that pronunciation.

I don't like Lucia (I would pronounce it like St. Lucia), but I love Lucy. Why don't you just name her Lucy? Lucy is a stand alone name.
  • I know two people with that name. ONe pronounces it Lu-Che-ah, and the other one pronounces it Lu-C-ah
  • I like it - It's a nice name!
  • I like the name, but I would pronounce it Lucy-uh.
