What were you afraid of during the first few weeks of being a mother?

When DD was in the hospital and when she first came home I was terrified of dressing her, it was like if I bent her arms or legs them too much I would break them because she was so tiny.  I lmao at that now because now it's just like hold still and I am yanking her arms and legs everywhere trying to get her dressed, she just looks at me like hurry up B!tch.  What were you afraid of in those first few weeks?

Suffocation. I don't like anything by his head, EVER lol

Choking on mucous.  She did this the day we left the hospital and they whisked her away to clear her airway.

Tripping with her in my arms!!! I was sooooooo careful!!! I am so clumsy!!! Also, like you said...dressing her! oh....and SIDS! I was basically a wreck! haha

I was terrified of falling asleep while I was BF him during the night. I was so afraid I was going to roll over onto him and accidently suffocate him.

I was terrified that she would start crying and I wouldn't know what to do to make her stop. Luckily, I got a baby that only cries when something is wrong and I can usually figure it out right away.

I worried about not being able to soothe her crying - I was afraid that if I couldn't soothe her, that it would have some negative effect on her.  Also, I worried a lot about breastfeeding...if I was doing it right, if she was getting enough, etc.

my biggest fear was SIDS. When she was first born, we kept her in a bassinet by our bed. I would wake up a million times a night just to make sure she was still breathing. Then, if I couldn't tell, I would nudge her to make sure she was ok. I admit that I was kind of obsessive about it, but I am over it now....mostly
