Showing at 8 weeks....normal???

Hi! I am a regular poster on the Success After IF board, but they all recommended to check this board out too!  I recently found out I am pregnant with twins and here is my dilemma:

I am finding that getting ready for work in the morning is becoming the MOST stressful part of my day.  Nothing fits!  I know that I am not gaining too much weight (if any at all) because I can eat only small bits of food every day, but my clothes are all so tight and I am only just over 8 weeks!!!!  Is this normal for twins??

Re: Showing at 8 weeks....normal???

  • It is probably bloat at this point and bloat X2.

I don't know if it is "normal" but it was normal for me. Strangers knew I was pg at only 12 weeks.?

    Congrats on your wonderful blessings.

Please join us over here too, I'm apart of SAIF too, but haven't been on in a while. ?

  • You're not showing yet, it's bloat and it suuuuucks. Get a bella band (or a tube top) to wear around your pants so you can leave them unbuttoned. The bloat goes down a tiny bit, but you will 'show' sooner, typically.

  • the babies are still super tiny.  super tiny x 2 = still super tiny ;-)

I was really  bloated, too, and had to buy new clothing around 10 weeks.  But, I am now 22 weeks and I am still wearing said clothing so its not necassarily a bad thing...have fun shopping!

  • congrats!! I'm a fellow SAIFer, too :)

I was SOOOOO bloated with my twin pg - i looked like i was "showing" right away... and by the time the bloat went down i was truly getting a little belly - so it always seemed like i showed right away... sorry- nothing to help you out here :)

i started to wear maternity pants really early on - the ones that just have some elastic on the back- so they look normal (no panel, etc) but have some give... got them at Mimi - might be good to get a few pairs for work.

  • I also started wearing maternity pants at around 9 weeks with my twin pregnancy.  The bloat was horrible.  I never went back to regular pants, I think the bloat turned into a baby belly.  I felt odd about buying maternity clothes that early but they were much more comfy.  With this pregnancy (singleton) I got a bella band, I recommend those too.
  • It was normal for me..lol. this is my 3rd pregnancy so i'm sure that has something to do with it.

i go from a slight bulge in the morning to looking as if I'm concealing a basketball at night. Today i can literally feel the muscles stretching/aching in my abdomen. already wearing maternity pants/shorts. I can some-what conceal the bulge with some shirts but, it's getting harder.

We're waiting until Mother's Day to make our announcement (God willing).

  • I had the bloating at 10 weeks and felt crazy buying/wearing maternity pants and/or my bella band, but it felt so much better.  I could never tell the difference between bloating and baby bump, I just kept getting bigger.  FWIW - the full panel pants and only ONE pair of under belly pants still fit me when I was 23 weeks.  I am at 25 weeks wearing a new size maternity shirt for tshirts and tanks and pants to fit the belly.  For shirts, the ones with the side rouching last longer.  GL!
  • I tried the bella band too, but it only worked for a few weeks. ?My bloat was so bad that i just bought maternity clothes. ?To be honest it never went down. ?I just kept growing. ?
  • it was normal for me, too.

I had BLOAT and then now I have a bit of a baby belly.

I wore a bella band and then maternity pants at 12 weeks.

(I would have been it mat pants sooner but they all needed to be hemmed).
