My ds will be 3 in august and has zero interest in potty training. I know they say boys train later, but I feel like I am lagging behind. Should I push it anyway or wait until he is really ready?
My dd will be 3 in June and has no interest in the potty. She refuses and gets mad if I even mention it. She has a lot of constipation problems, so I know she will be hard to train.
My ds trained at 3.5 because I just didn't feel he was ready. He wouldn't ask to have his diaper changed after he pooped and couldn't pull his pants down on his own. At 3.5 when I introduced it, he was ready and did great. Don't worry about his age...just go by his signs of being ready.
I posted the exact same thing last week. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm going to 'push' it over the summer since he's supposed to be trained for pre-school in the fall...or if I will find a new school.
Nathan will be 3 in July, and we've had some success with peeing but he's far from being diaper free. He flat out refuses to poop in the potty. I'm hoping he changes his mind soon!

We decided to go the 3 day potty training route when DD was a little over 3. We did the 3 days at home last weekend and she's had no pee accidents since day 2. Just had two days in a row of zero accidents.
She had never told me that she needed to be changed or asked to use the potty, but there were other signs that she was just being lazy and going in her pullup instead of concentrating on going in the potty. She was the type of personality who just needed to "run out of diapers" one day.
Thanks everyone. I don't think he even understands how to control it when he needs to pee, or tell me when. He has pooped on the potty twice, but nothing consistent. I'll just keep "patiently" waiting I guess.
DS just turned 3 yrs old and is still not PT'ed. He has done both #1 and #2 in the potty several times, but most of the time, he choses not to. I will be on Mat leave with baby # 2 in a few weeks so I'm hoping to be able to focus on the training more then, but for now I'm ok with not pushing it on him.
Re: anyone else's almost 3 year old not PT?
