PSA - New KY Tingling Jelly

We tried this product this morning. At first I thought DH had put Ben-Gay on my private parts! Holy Crap!! I almost screamed and made a run for the bathroom. Then it kind of settled in and I got used to it.

It smells like mint and the advertised "tingle" is more like that refreshing cool feeling after you brush your teeth - minty.

DH loved it and I thought it was interesting but not any sexier than anything else.

  • Funny story: I HATE the feeling of this stuff but we still have it in the drawer. One night, DH was reaching for the regular ky but picked upthis bottle in the dark. I thought I was on fire and ended up running to the bathroom and sitting in the bathtub. Needless to say, we did not conceive on that night...
  • thanks for posting this. I was curious about this stuff since I saw the commerical for it.  I hated KY Yours and Mine.  Sounds like this isn't much better.
  • That stuff gives me yeast infections!  We use and I love Astroglide.  I think it's the best.
  • We use the Karma Sutra massage oils... We love it. The almond one is a little weird because you smell like biscotti down there but they work well!

I am not a fan of KY in general. Too goopy. The lady at the "Sensuality Shop" where I bought a present for DH said that if you put a little water on it it isn't so goopy. Doesn't sound like fun. We weren't really happy with the "Yours and Mine" or the one that is supposed to heat. Fun to try though!

  • I have been told by several people and have read elsewhere that we should not be using lube. Apparently the chemicals in lube can cause your mucus plug to start to break down. I haven't had a prob with needing lube, but try canola oil...I heard that works.
  • I was just going to ask that question...I've been wondering if lube is a good idea. I mean, we have a fun drawer full that we've used while not knocked up...but I've been too scared to use any of it now. We haven't really needed it, but sometimes it's still fun.

Oh, you can revive or thin out any water based lube it water. It's actually suggested to use water to revive the lube than to apply more lube. Adding extra lube on top of lube that is starting to dry will give you the goopy feel.

I think the most "natural" feeling lube I've ever come by has been a lube by Vagasil.

I've heard that anything truly oil based (as in canola, olive, etc.)isn't supposed to be good for the girly bits. Is that true?
